„Scale Clean Plus“ — acid descaling powder

Professional sulfamic acid descaler for aluminium, copper, brass and iron surfaces. 1 kg jar.

„Scale Clean Plus“ is an acid descaling powder made in Italy by „REPA“ for professional use. It removes limescale from coffee machine parts, drinks dispenser circuits and other equipment with aluminium, copper, brass or iron surfaces. The solution can be circulated through a circuit or used as a soaking bath for parts.

The main active ingredient is sulfamic acid (60–80 %). The product is a white crystalline powder that dissolves in water. The powder absorbs moisture, so keep the jar tightly closed.

• Coffee machine parts.
• Drinks dispenser circuits.
• Equipment with aluminium, copper, brass and iron surfaces.
• Ice maker water systems — if the ice maker manufacturer approves sulfamic acid descalers.

Directions for use

Dosage. Make up a 5–20 % solution in water (50–200 g of powder per litre of solution); the heavier the scale, the stronger the solution.

1. Dissolve the powder in water at 50–70 °C.
2. Circulate the solution through the circuit or immerse the parts in it, and allow a contact time of 1–8 hours.
3. Rinse the circuit or parts thoroughly with water afterwards.

If the powder has formed lumps, shake the jar well before use — lumps do not affect its performance.

Ice makers. Follow the ice maker manual for the solution strength and cleaning procedure. After descaling, rinse the system several times with clean water and only then sanitise it with the product specified in the manual — chlorine-based products must not come into contact with acid residue. Once the machine is back in service, discard the first few batches of ice.

Warning: causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation (H315, H319); harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H412). Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye or face protection. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice or attention. Wash thoroughly with water after handling. Avoid release to the environment. Do not mix with chlorine-based products such as chlorine bleach — there is a risk of explosion on contact with chlorine — or with nitric acid, nitrates or nitrites. Store only in the original container, tightly closed, in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials.
