Stainless steel water circuit
„Ascaso“ uses stainless steel for most parts in contact with water, from the heating elements to the filters. The steel is hygienic and resists limescale, so your coffee tastes good and the machine stays reliable.
Coffee in one minute
The electronically controlled „Ascaso“ thermoblock heats only when needed, which saves energy. You can brew coffee a minute after switching on, with a constant supply of steam.

The „Ascaso“ Steel DUO PID is an industrial-style espresso machine with two thermoblocks and PID control: brew espresso and froth milk at the same time.
Every Steel machine combines a minimalist industrial look and a compact stainless steel body with the features of a professional machine. The DUO PID has two independent insulated thermoblocks (one for coffee, one for steam).

The Steel DUO PID is made for coffee lovers who often make milk drinks and want to set the temperature, doses and pre-infusion themselves. It brews one or two cups at a time and works wherever coffee is part of the day — from a home kitchen to an office kitchenette or a guesthouse.
Every shot is as good as the last: the PID controller keeps the water at the temperature you set, and the display shows when the machine is hot and ready.
Set the brew temperature to suit your coffee with the two buttons either side of the display — from 80 to 110 °C in 1 °C steps.
Single and double shots come out the same size every time: programme both doses to suit your cups, then just flick the coffee switch up or down — the machine stops by itself.
With the shot timer on, the display counts the seconds as each shot runs.
Counters show how many single and double coffees you have made in total and since the last reset.
The right working pressure is 9–12 bar. It depends on the coffee and the grind, so the gauge shows straight away whether you have got them right.
Pre-infusion briefly wets the coffee before the full shot; set it in the menu from 0 to 5 s.
Match the maximum pressure to your coffee with the over-pressure valve (OPV), which you adjust from the outside.
Brew with ground coffee or ESE pods. With the pressurised baskets, espresso comes out well whatever the grind size.
Froth milk with steam through the stainless steel wand: set the steam temperature in the menu from 110 to 165 °C and the steam flow with the rotary knob.
Steam has its own thermoblock, so you can froth milk while the espresso is running.
The wand stays cool to the touch, so you can hold it safely.
Hot water for tea or for warming cups comes from a separate wand.
Espresso is at its best in a warm cup, and the active cup warmer on top of the machine has yours ready.
A window shows at a glance how much water is left in the tank.
The water tank, filter baskets and drip tray can go in the top rack of the dishwasher.
The programmable stand-by saves energy: the machine switches to stand-by after half an hour, one hour or two hours without use — whichever you choose.
When you are making espresso only, switch the steam thermoblock off in the menu.
All four Steel models are the same size: 270 × 315 × 360 mm (W × D × H).

If you would like a steam lever, plus a bottomless portafilter and a 21 g basket in the box, choose the „Ascaso“ Steel DUO PLUS. If one thermoblock for coffee and steam is enough, choose the „Ascaso“ Steel UNO PID.
Descale the machine with „Ascaso“ Coffee Washer: monthly if you make more than 10 coffees a day, every two months for 5–10, and every three months for up to 5. The same product also cleans the brew group.
Once a week, backflush the group with the blind filter supplied; take out and wash the shower screen every 80–100 espressos.
Clean the steam thermoblock with the same product, using the cleaning mode in the menu.
The machine comes with a stainless steel double-spout portafilter with a walnut handle, stainless steel filter baskets (7 g for one cup, 14 g and 18 g for two), pressurised baskets (7 g and 14 g), an ESE pod basket, a blind filter, an aluminium tamper, a measuring spoon and a group head brush.
