„Ascaso“ thermoblock 230 V, 1 000 W (I.2237)

This is an original „Ascaso“ I.2237 thermoblock — an instantaneous heater that heats water as it flows through. Two stainless steel tubes run inside the cast aluminium body: one holds the heating element, the other carries the water. It is rated at 1 000 W and 230 V. The „Ascaso“ parts diagram lists no separate heating element, so if it fails the whole thermoblock has to be replaced.

Gaskets are not included. The thermoblock has two water connections, and each needs a new „Ascaso“ I.3096 gasket. Order two (product code 10042420) — you will find them below, under ‘Similar products’. Do not reuse the old gaskets: compressed PTFE does not spring back, and a reused gasket is the most common reason a brand-new thermoblock leaks.

Check the code before ordering. This list is based on compatibility data from „Ascaso“ distributors. In the Steel Duo and Steel Trio, the I.2237 is also used in the steam system. Parts may vary between production years, so check that your machine’s parts diagram lists the thermoblock as I.2237. Machines for 110 V use a different thermoblock, I.2238. Replacement and care

We recommend having the thermoblock replaced by an espresso machine technician: the job involves disconnecting the electrical wiring and the pressurised water connections. Before you start, unplug the machine and let it cool down. The water tube is narrow, so hard water can clog it with limescale — use filtered or softened water and descale the machine regularly.
